Flying to or from Fort Lauderdale for Thanksgiving? How to check your flight

Traveling by plane has been a bit chaotic this year. Travelers don’t have the ease of take of their coach or boat travel counterparts.

Miami International Airport, which is set to have a record-breaking week this Thanksgiving, is recommending people be at the airport at least three hours in advance for domestic flights and three or four hours for international flights. Fort Lauderdale Airport, which is expecting sizable crowds too, is recommending people arrive two hours in advance for domestic flights and three or four hours if flying internationally.

This is to make sure you have the time and space to park the car, check you in and take your bag through security.

After a summer of flight delays and cancellations across the United States, passenger sympathy has dwindled. But the airline industry seems as confident that the skies are still well stocked as they were in early summer.

Many people do not have the luxury of being able to see what their future holds, but there are free status trackers available online that you can visit to see the status of flight arrivals and departures at the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports.
